We are a global Energy Services company. Acting in an ESG-friendly manner is ingrained in what we do. The principles of ESG reflect sound business practices and are aligned well with our culture of innovation, engagement, and sustainable growth.
Our ESG Statement
We aim to embed environmental stewardship in everything we do.
We believe we have a responsibility to minimize the energy, carbon, water and waste impacts of our business and recognize that these impacts occur not just in the daily operations but also through our entire value chain. As a result, we strive to reduce environmental impacts across our field and corporate operations.
Products and operations optimization: We are constantly exploring ways to improve performance with less environmental impact. We have developed and implemented several technologies that not only reduce operational costs to our clients but do so in a way that reduces their carbon footprint.
Ultra-Lite™ Glass Bubbles: This innovative technology is an alternative to underbalanced drilling with nitrogen. This unique approach utilizes Glass bubbles to reduce the density of the fluid, displacing the need for nitrogen injection. This eliminates the high fuel consumption required by the air compressors needed to generate on-site nitrogen and thus significantly reducing the carbon footprint of the operation.
Mud Weight On Demand™: Our small footprint MWOD™ system allows operators to drill with freshwater or produced water by applying surface pressure to provide additional equivalent density without solids or salts. This reduces the trucking needed to transport heavy brines and weight materials to location.
CarbonTracker®: Engineered to accurately measure small volumes of gas produced while drilling, the CarbonTracker system helps operators understand the environmental impact of their operations, including their carbon footprint.
EnduraDril®: EnduraDril fluid chemistry works with existing field-produced water to create a fluid exhibiting inhibitive characteristics, rheological profile and lubricity comparable to OBM, yet solids-free. This allows the reuse of produced water, reducing freshwater consumption. Also, it can eliminate the need for OBM, thus reducing the risk of spills and environmental damage to sensitive areas.
A deep commitment to social responsibility is core to who we are as a company.
We believe people are at the heart of our business and take pride in our unique work culture. We strive to be an optimal employer to our workforce and a valued partner to the communities where we work.
Diversity and Inclusion: We embrace and value diversity in all its forms, whether gender, age, ethnicity or cultural background. Equal opportunity is integral to our recruitment process, as we aim to develop a community of diverse talent. We seek to maintain a positive workplace, free from discrimination and harassment. We champion pay equity and mutual respect, promoting an environment of fairness and equality.
Health & Safety: The health and safety of our employees, tenants, and vendors are of the utmost importance to us. We adhere to leading health and safety standards across our portfolio, and each year, we conduct various health seminars and require all employees to complete safety training.
Compensation and Benefits: We know that the first step in hiring and retaining the best talent is to create safe and inspiring workplaces where people feel valued. We offer competitive compensation and benefits to all regular full-time and part-time employees, including but not limited to paid holiday, vacation, and sick time, and medical, dental, and vision coverage. We also offer a very generous profit-sharing compensation program that empowers our team members to act and feel like owners, not just employees.
Community: We strive to make a positive impact wherever we work. The results of our efforts touch our employees, contractors, suppliers and clients, as well as the communities in which we live and work. We have developed a Local Content Framework for our international operations that places great emphasis on locally hired labour and sourcing locally available materials and equipment. We do not view this as fulfilling the local procurement demands of project owners. Rather we feel it is required to be a good corporate citizen, and it is only common sense.
ECD Management recognizes that the utilization of local material and labour has the following benefits:
- Fosters community involvement
- Preserves local employment opportunities in the energy sector
- Reduces the environmental impact of commuting and transportation of materials and equipment
- Allows for transfer of skills to the local workforce
Optimizing local content in our activities is one of the critical elements of success at ECD Management. Our interest is to create additional value to the communities we operate in by using local human and material resources in the services we render to the oil and gas industry.
In addition to our Local Content Framework for our international operations, we are also committed to supporting Indigenous and Aboriginal Peoples here at home. At ECD, we believe in building positive and mutually beneficial relationships with First Nations and Tribal leadership, communities, peoples and businesses. These relationships are based on mutual trust, respect, and transparency resulting in achieving common goals. These goals include, but are not limited to, training/employment opportunities, material and services procurement and profit-sharing. Thru alliances, partnerships, and synergistic subcontracting opportunities, ECD is confident that we can increase the Indigenous Peoples and community's participation on a project by project basis.
